It started raining Monday night.  And kept raining.  All of Tuesday and all of Wednesday and still this morning.

Finally this afternoon the rain stopped and, up on the hill, we were left in a thick fog.  It's funny - people talk more about the weather than the earthquakes.

The Mission District

Saturday morning in the Mission District.  The hipsters are edging out the Mexicans, but the taquerías are there to stay.  I had lunch at an El Salvadorian place, somehow I got the beef tongue despite ordering something else entirely.

The Women's Building is a block back from Valencia Street, while murals and street art are scattered around the lane ways and back streets.

The View

I may end up just posting pictures of the view from MSRI.  So here's the first.  That's the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance...well, you make out the towers, if you know where to look.

San Francisco Cycles

There was a little damage to my bicycle when I unpacked it after the plane trip.  But I took it down to the bike shop and will pick it up later this morning.  There are a few rides around Berkeley I want to try.
